Pheasant’s Tears vineyards slope down the eastern Georgian Kiziqi province, overlooking the snow-capped Caucasus Mountains.
Their natural wines express the uniqueness of grapes ripened under the sun of 14-hour summer days and a fermenting process in ‘qvevri’ - clay vessels lined with beeswax and buried underground. Come taste them!
We will serve a dinner from our kitchen featuring several courses. Winemaker John Wurdeman will be here to shed light into his process and tell us what life is like in the village of Tibaani, nestled in the shadow of the sixth century monastery of St. Stephen.

Pastured Poultry Week is a celebration of humane and sustainably produced pasture raised chicken.
We are participating along with 92 restaurants in Georgia. New York, and Charleston.
Pasture raised chickens can take up to twice as long to reach the same weight as a factory-farmed bird due mostly to the slow growing breed that is used. This slower growth is an important factor in healthy development and good welfare. Come taste the difference!

A little bit about Leda...
A lifelong forager (it's her great-grandmother's fault), Leda Meredith is the author of Northeast Foraging: 120 Wild and Flavorful Edibles from Beach Plums to Wineberries and other books including The Locavore’s Handbook: The Busy Person’s Guide to Eating Local on a Budget. She is an instructor at the New York Botanical Garden and at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden specializing in edible and medicinal plants. Leda is also the Food Preservation expert for About.com.
